Worst Popular City Tour: Stolipinovo Plovdiv, Bulgaria

Introducing Stolipinovo in the Bulgarian city of Plovdiv, the most populous Romani-inhabited district in the Balkans. Here you can witness household waste hurled from the apartments onto heaps on the ground below in a kind of post-socialist ticker-tape fiesta.
Since the end of the socialist era in 1989 there has been almost no investments in the infrastructure of Stolipinovo. In combination with the boom of illegal housing this has led to severe problems with electricity, water supply, sewerage and waste disposal.
